Tobermory

Last night, I was digging up holes again You were looking across the fence over to tomorrow, You cried as you didn’t see us on the other side And it looked our date-before was nearly due I asked you to stay and help me serve dinner for the demons You said you didn’t like guests, as they made us look transparent And besides, I’d be chasing my head rolling down the meadow The sound of shattered glass Made me fear we could become the past again So I dragged you down over the aching now Waking up your back pain that never sleeps Then I brought the scissors out in the garden And we cut each other’s hair We took our eyes off each other Then we went upstairs and made love … blind.
