To You a Plea
T O Y O U A P L E A
This poem to you
I write today.
Your voice this morning
awoke.
The sleeping beast I,
nightmare, chains…
I’m lost again.
Killed once more.
Plead you my friend
hold key
closed door.
Kinship hope.
or ancient soul.
You to bring me out this hole.
Pushed right in,
husband
no friend.
Hate replaced
my love he send.
Children too,
laughed and played
while mommies life
turned dismay.
Day to day
my grief replaced
an anger storm
of disbelief.
A storm so violent
ragging war.
Reduced me to
my own worst whore….
Who I became
I see indeed
and now I plea and beg
to be free…
a special soul of friendship need.
Take my hand
that we may stand,
never
in judgment.
Our pledge of alliance.
To be all that
God and Art
Have seeded.
Creative makers must you and me
on our journey friendship sea.
For lover arms
beget relationship prisons…
Plus, a dime a dozen.
Value placed not
on true friendship got,
not to rot
not forgot.
And so end my poetic plea.
Begging, pleading…
Set me free.
