To Vanish In the Fragility of Dreams
If life be such as this
a thought, a memory, a timeless intrusion into the mind
by its precious well of dreams
may I drink from this well
before it turns barren and full of stones
and could this drink give pause to escape
the thirst from a world of wanton dreams
so my quenched throat may suffocate the darkness
with light found distant
when I walk across the shattered shards
that fall upon the footprint covered ground
filled with fragments of tomorrow's wishes
that will vanish in the fragility of dreams
