To Touch a Memory
If only I could reach back and touch a memory
Does such magic exist?
To be in the room
To see the smile of a young and vibrant mother
My face warmed by the glow of her love
My first new car and the aroma of adulthood
To fill my senses as I ride into my destiny
Would that not be a dream?
The last time I held my grandmother’s hand
I would never let go
If only I could reach back and touch a memory
Any chosen day or night
A lifetime of love
The laughter of friends now departed
Does such magic exist?
Perhaps it does
