To those who think that poetry must be of lofty things, not sensuality To those who write of stars and sun and moon and who to romance will not ever swoon To those who write of angst and misery of all that has gone wrong in history To those who think I write frivolity and read not what I write: an oddity! I write to you, and all my thought's I'll bare and see if you can argue if you dare If you’ve forgotten passion's blazing fire Or how consumed your heart was with desire If you’ve forgotten romance in the night Or making love in early morning light If you’re denied the thrill of ecstasy And can’t bear witness to its urgency If you have come of age when health concerns are all of life that now your mind discerns I tell you dear, the fault is yours not mine Devoid of love life meets not plan divine The gift of love is granted from on high You can’t deny that even if you try the pleasure’s woven in anatomy He formed and blessed our sensuality To reproduce was in his own design But also to enjoy the act sublime There is a little bud that’s meant to thrill It’s only use is pleasure to fulfill So tell me, what is life if not for this To show commitment with the sweetest kiss In right communion to be drenched in love And in its throes to glide to heights above My fellow poet, write of lofty things And all the finer thoughts that wisdom brings I pity you for love and passion’s reign Has banished you from glory with disdain All nature and all life with love is mixed And so my mind with passion is transfixed It’s love that makes this world go round and round Without it, best be buried underground. I enjoyed reading this one again Eileen. I can’t understand why anyone would not want a bit of passion in their lives.

There are people who do not like sensual writes? Oops! I write a lot of those. I know because I was there when I wrote them. I think this is a spectacular write!

Apologize, again, for the disappearing act. I go through spasms of visiting and not visiting... something I need to work on!

Hi Eileen.....many of those who read your poems stop by because of the passion you put into them. You write with passion about passion, and that is what makes your poetry what it is. Anybody who can't understand this might easily be tempted to scoff and scorn. Keep that pen of yours flowing with sweet delight!! Appassionata forever:) hugs // paul

Appassionata thanks you. I remember your poem, Carmileen. :) The comment you made on that poem proved to me that you know why I write what I write, Paul. I write of dreams and sweet treats...We have enough of a dose of reality. Thanks ever so much for understanding me. I'm not an easy one to understand, but I honestly believe you do understand. :) That's why I love having your visits. Hugs

MD....so glad you could pass by. It's been an awfully long time. Hope all is well with you and that your New Year is off to a good start. I'm doing OK. Got a lot on my plate this coming year. Will try to manage. Yes, we are all passionate...about different things. That's Ok. I just want to adopt the Live and let Live policy when it comes to poetry. Hugs

Thanks, John. I don't think I'll ever stop being passionate. It is at times a curse I bear. It's hard being passionate in a world that is...devoid of it. Thanks for the visit and kind remarks

Timothy wrote the perfect quote. When I think of the Beauty of your winning poem in Justin's contest I can do nothing but stand in awe of the majesty that you possess. As you know I think you and your writing are beyond amazing. Scoffers scoff and writers write as for me I find you a delight!

That last sentence was sheer magic, Richard. Thanks ever so much. Yes, I got first place in both of Justin's contests which were of a sensual nature. I treasure them. Thanks for the support.

I am so glad to have this be my first read of your work today. This to me is perfect from first to last word. So clear and precise in message, smooth in flow and outstanding in rhyme! The topic of sensuality always has its critics. Yet it always has its great admirers too! I stand firmly with the admiring crowd as I admire your talent! A7

Yes, Robert. That is so true. I'm glad that you favored this piece. It was just something that I had to get off my chest. It has been bothering me much of late. Thanks for understanding and for commenting. I appreciate it.

Thank you, Rajat. You are very kind to me. I try too be honest. It often gets me in trouble, but I try. The culture in which I love often frustrates me when it comes to these matters. I'm glad I have PS to keep me sane.

"And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing." Corinthians 13:2 I scoff not of your writes, but praise your passion and honesty. And if sharing part of your soul is considered frivolous, then humanity is lacking! Write on, Eileen...

Timothy...Happy New Year, my dear. Why do you keep pulling this disappearing act on us? I was so happy you came back...Hey! Give us equal time here! Yes...great quotation. Thanks for your kindness. I'm feeling very frustrated about this issue. Maybe it is all in my head. I am a sensual person, and I get a lot of flack for it. I feel like writing the whole thing off and becoming a nun. My family is incorrigible, and I keep having to apologize for the way I am. Oh dear...Here I am unburdening to you. That's what PS is, though....I let off steam. Hugs

Eileen, I love your romantic and sensual writes...reading one of your poems gave me the idea of having a most romantic poem of the year contest. I think good poetry can be written about all things. Best to write from the heart! Now, I'm laughing at Andrea's comment...she may be right! Hugs, Rhonda

I'm glad you got inspired that way. I do realize that good poetry can be about lasagna... ;) I don't have an issue with that. We all ready what we enjoy....It's just that I want to know that THIS genre is respected and liked as well. Out of the abundance of the heart...the pen writes! ;) A twist to the Bible verse. Yes...Andrea is a joker. Thanks for the visit.

Well, Eileen, to steal one of the best movie lines ever....."I'll have what she's having". A good poem is a good poem, the words but the ornaments, the drapery, slowly removing all but the essence of the poems sensuality.

Wow, John. Now that is a comment I can relate to. I'm glad that I have your support on this. Yes...that is quite some line there! Removing the drapery and baring the soul. Beautifully worded. Thanks for the support

BRAVO Eileen - who are WE to judge - if I like a poem i comment if i don't I don't but I would never criticse another writers work or style - If we all wrote on the same topic and in the same style oh how boring it would be - I agree with Frederic every poem and poet is important its just down to personal preference - a 7 from me:-) Hugs jan xxx

You are SO write, my dear friend. I love humor as much as the next person and that is why I do read Jack Ellis...but he also has romance. I loved the footless Tim wrote recently...It takes all kinds, but...romance and love is something we can't do without....I always appreciate your visits. Hugs

My poetic friend I'm confused as I posted a sonnet about a single kiss just a week ago...and have over the course of a year posted many sonnets on love, passion and the human experience from both...as for frivolity, who is the judge?Every poem is important, every poet is important..don't you think?

Yes. Thanks, Frederic. Thank you for your thoughts. I just sometimes wonder if people think I'm a little crazy as this seems to be my favorite genre. Long story. Thanks for your vote of confidence. I appreciate it."
