To Tell the Truth
Today you lied to me.
I knew your words weren't true.
But I never said a thing,
To let you know I knew.
You'd told the story once before,
But now the tale has changed.
But I will not call your bluff.
I don't want to cause you shame.
You stole from me today,
Though I will not make a fuss.
Though I love you as my friend,
You took from me my trust.
Truth's like a bird with silver wings.
Wisely listen for it's call.
If you cannot speak the truth.
Say nothing else at all.
