To Out-Love Shakespeare

The performance of a lifetime, A playwright of romance, Written by the actors, Of our never-ending dance. Slowly the curtain rises, The conductor lifts his wand, A soft note begins the fable, That orchestrates our bond. Unrehearsed or scripted, Yet self-assured we begin, To tell them all the story, Of the love we feel within. We start off at a distance, Out of each other's grasp, The audience can feel our pain, They cannot help but gasp. We over come each obstacle, At last we reach each other, A sudden hush falls over, Every child and mother. A crescendo in the orchestra, Cues us to share our kiss, We feel the radience of all thier smiles, As we reflect to them, our bliss. We continue on our escapade, Exciting and amusing, But we know that's what love's all about, Beautiful and confusing. Through every doubt and question, We pass without looking back, And as we drop our final lines, The lighting fades to black. We kiss on stage in darkness, Like ones we never have to fake, Because we act out our passions, We perform without character break. The audience roars loudly, Out of love and admiration, The lights on stage come up again, We see our standing ovation. So many people envy us, And the love we share, They're jealous of the strength we have, They think it's so unfair. Our final performance comes to an end We clasp our hands to bow, Never scripted with our shows, But knowing we did well some how. The curtain falls a last time, As we retire hand in hand, We walk off stage to the unknown, With nothing really planned. The stage will carry memories, Of all of our endeavors, But no matter where life takes us, The show will go on with us together.
