To My Lover

 I gave you life.

Each day I breathe, so that on the day I leave,
you are immortalized.
I could not embrace the soil, until I told every soul,
that is and will be – the joy of loving you.

A woman that never loved me.

On the day that I was born, I was given shelter in a heart.
I had only one home, left it just so you could smile for a little while.

Wise men told me that love may only burn once.
My heart is of ashes, my soul does not belong.
I will live forever, in your eternal song of love.
