To Love With Everything
Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! “to love him with all our heart, with all your understanding, with all your rength, and to love your neighbor as yourself” is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. Mark 12:29, 33
In the readings for today
God asks for the totality of our lives
All heart
All thought
All strength
It seems like there would be little left for us further
We must also love our neighbors
Ourselves
When our hearts are divided among many different objects
Desires
It is indeed difficult to love ourselves
Our neighbor
But when our hearts are united with God alone
We have access to an infinite source of love
