To Love Someone
To Love Someone
To love someone who has wronged you
Is not the easiest thing to do
To be able to turn around and tell them
"It's okay, I've forgiven you"
Takes a great deal of strength and courage
Not all of us possess
Qualities that are much harder to find
When one is angry and in distress
To be able to rise above
A wrong that cannot be undone
Takes a special kind of inner-strength:
A special kind of someone
I wish that I could do just that
Open my heart and free my pain
But I'd feel very susceptible
To the same thing happening again
So, as much as I'd like to be noble
And take the higher ground
There is no way it's going to happen
While there is anger still around.
