To Live the Life of Dreams

Brothers Sisters cousins Aunts
One hundred people
Ten dollars per week
Fifty two thousands

The deposit for a house
once a year every year
but my sister worries
about death duties

I thought to myself
yes but you are only
paying for what you own
tax pays for the roads

It pays for the schools
the infrastructure of our country
ten dollars per week
is not that much

just a third of a packet of cigarettes
the money wasted on fish and chips
but I suppose if you don't want to pay
death duties we are allowed to give

presents to our children
we could all save it individually
in our banks and then give it
as a wedding present

To a child getting married
its still the same thing
one house one deposit every year
but fifty two thousand dollars

would give that child, a head start in life
whether its a house or an education
saved as a group or given as a gift
it's your money and these are just ideas

the only difference
between a successful life
and a drug addicted life is decisions
you decide if you are going to build a career

You decide if you are going to take drugs
and those decision's create your life
granted if your parents have a drug problem
you live a life, where it surrounds you

you have a greater chance of becoming addicted
and with that addiction comes the risk of jail
broken laws and broken lives
but it is still your choice

the only one that can beat your problem
is you, you are the only one,
with you, twenty four hours a day
the only one that knows your hearts desire

Napoleon Hill was an alcoholic
one day walking past a window
he saw his own reflection
looking at himself

He decided to change
and went on to become
one of the worlds greatest
salesman

your decisions, your desires and beliefs
become apart of your family's culture
your children learn
from what you think and say

your decisions, affect your children
if you think that drugs are good,
because they make life feel better,
that is an idea, you pass on to the child

If you think that todays education
is a waste of time
why do you teach algebra
when you never use it in life

why do they teach trigonometry
when we never use it as adults
then think again
they teach these things

so you can go on to become
the scientist or mathematician
granted you don't use it in your life
but they gave you a chance, to do more,

to become better
than you ever thought possible
to become wiser and smarter
to live the life of dreams
