To Find Love Naught
In dreams, her face will appear in my nights
To float in shadowed realms, her form will blend
To be a fool my dark sadness invites
This din from my mind, this night dreamers den
To still this ghost when my sleep prevails
And dream, perhaps to relive each kiss kept
To retreat from her Earthly betrayals
Before all my breath has fled and wept
That love could fly on a cold wishful wind
Its talons cleave and pierce each dream once sought
To leave veins empty, with time closing in
To shut these eyes, at last, to find love naught
To find dreams are love left to keep to hold
Cold misty visions held close growing old
