To Dust

To Dust

It all comes to an end
the dawn rises, then sun sets
as twilight drifts in, to transcend
even the wildest dreams

heaven’s breath stills
the music, a song on the wind
caressing the gentle hills
with a measure of life’s warmth

hesitant prayers inspire
the whisper of morning’s birth
a heart full of wonderous fire
breathing notes of grace and light

stirred by the wind and rain
music blesses away the past
and rising in song, in spite of pain
a weathered dust shall rise

It all comes to an end
the spring, the summer, autumn
as winter’s snow will send
blessings of fresh moon and night

it all comes to an end
the wind stills and the rain stops
as heaven’s angels mend
every note of the past’s melancholy

It all comes to an end
in the past, mists of life
fail to say we can’t pretend
dust stills the night with its reminder

wherever we go, whatever arises
we’re meant to see the winter
her shy breath so still it despises
all that has been, the lost friends

Friends who mourn our death
even when we neglect
to remember the solemn breath
of a heart and soul who accept…

Jesus is alive and lives inside
despite my endless tears
this love of His will always confide
the meaning of grace that heals

grace that rises beyond the dust
where notes are written in a rush
notes reminding me He is just
and all that is… is sent to plead…

wherever we go, whatever we do
there is One who saves to the utmost
He is the right that makes all things new
because of Him, I’m living proof…

dust I am, and dust that proves
God is good and He understood
despite my sin, when God moves
He remembers that I am mere dust…

And He forgives all my worst
assuring me of grace and hope
forgiven, His love reversed
all the fears and tears I’d known

So as time stills each fear
I know that He will hear
When I pray, with or without a tear
His love for me is sincere

His love is the reason I know
What it means to feel the flow
Of a blood that will always show
How He shines His soft glow…

Through the dust, He sees
How utterly defeated I’d be
If someone hadn’t planted seeds
Leading me to a life so free

Jesus moves mountains and dust
He makes hard hearts melt
So that when you seek Him, you must
Reach out with a heart changed by grace!
