“How Stars Made Us:
After the Big Bang, the universe was mostly just hydrogen and helium. As the first stars
formed, intense heat and pressure in their cores caused them to fuse these simple gases
into heavier elements like carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. When these massive stars reached
the end of their lives, they exploded in cataclysmic events called supernovae, seeding
the cosmos with these crucial building blocks of life.” Reference: Google

To Dust

You may know this, 
     or perhaps not
that dust was formed, and life begot,
     created by the “Big Bang” birth
which built the stars, 
     Sun, planets, Earth.

The minerals which 
     stardust spun
shaped special life, beneath the Sun.
     We humans, too, relied on dust's
prized oxygen-
     for life, a must.

With nitrogen 
     and helium,
plus hydrogen, it was begun.
     Yes, from the stars, this dust became
the start of us 
     Humans, by name. 

We hail you, dust- 
     that from the stars
this miracle of life is ours,
     and God was there to start the flow
that formed His 
     Universe below.
