To Dream of Tides
The waves they rocked against the shore in a caress that stole the ground from ‘neath its feet, and lulled to sleep all of the restless stars the sand could never meet
With a promise of tomorrow the sky converged to meet the sea, with all her decadence and grace refracts vermillion and green
As her pools of liquid fire birthed words that grew to phrases, silence died inside the wind that lifted dirt off from off her satin ridden laces
To dream of tides and placid waters overflowing from the spheres inside your eyes, that circle endlessly drawing you too close for gravity to stand marking you hers
And you’re lost inside a body that’s constricting has a hold onto your soul, chained to nothing but the emptiness that comes from being whole
So the poppies slip, slip from your grasp, slip into the sea, drifting far away, and I’m unable to sleep.
The poppies slip, slip from your grasp, slip into the sea, drifting far away, and I’m unable to sleep.
