To Do the Right Thing Hurts

I know you'll never understand why I had
To send you away.
It was to protect you at all cost.
Every moment you were uppermost
In my mind. To get you out of this
Dangerous fray
That your sister had gotten us in to
Some way.
I was trying to save my family from a
Holocaust.
I know you'll never understand why I had
To send you away.
It was to protect you at all cost.
The only thing I could do was pray.
I was in a nightmare with my heart
Breaking in so many pieces I felt doubled
Crossed.
Again I had lost
By not getting to see you my beloved son
Every day.
I know you'll never understand why I had
To send you away.
It was to protect you at all cost.
