To Do a Thing

How hard it is to do a thing, No matter what it is. Determination sometimes fizzles, Losing all its fizz. To tackle a new project or To make some kind of change Requires the kind of energy That might seem out of range. How simple it appears to be To leave things as they are, No need to tap into The perseverance reservoir. Though life at such a standstill’s Crying out to be cajoled, The effort to improve it’s Much too easy to withhold.

Oh, this really nails it on the head, ilene. I've struggled with motivation, either to change or move, since lockdown started. I feel so blase! Great insights ~ John

Aye, it is a challenge for the elderly just to pull on a pair of trousers or stuff things into a sack (Instead of a scythe, Father Time wields a wand which makes opposite ends stick together) or other simple tasks. But what can one do but persevere? Neither tears nor prayers will put my shorts on! Aloha! Rico
