To condemn violence with solemn ink

(This is a poem i wrote in 2012 for the U.S school shooting, which i have now modified to include the Iranian school childern bombing by foreign dìctators,
that killed over a 112 girl students)

( news report: On December 14, 2012, a mass shooting occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, United States. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people. The victims were 20 children between six and seven years old, and six adult staff members. Earlier that day, before driving to the school, Lanza fatally shot his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the school, Lanza killed himself with a gunshot to the head. )

My heart  bleeds
for the misdeeds
of man killing man,
But a waterfall of tears
shed from pupils of the eyes
when and whenever
it's school pupils murdered,
The parents apple of their eyes
Lives and schools too sacred
to be massacred therein..!!

I recall of U.S
that one man shootout
Thoughts raced my mind for answers
I think, was it a madman lagerlout?

Indeed drugs, drinking and lack of parental supervision
could together form a lethal combination
Such fatal carelessness and recklessness
must be caused as well by godlessness
so atheism kinda completes self-destruction's equation...
To be able to commit senseless matricide, homicide then suicide
surely requires ample frustration!

As poet Blackpool Jimmy put it,
'lil ones who hardly said hello
are made to bid adieu'
I add, 'investigation into societal causes
is ever highly long due.

For this  terrible atrocity
my heartfelt condolence
 for loss of innocence
whether the kids are Muslim,
Christian or Jew
I despise all killer instinct ferocity
Innocent angel kids now in heaven
like doves do coo.:'(.

Woe to him, tis for certain for sure
twas a horrendous way
to settle with life the score!
for killers, we believers know,
never rest in peace
whether they kill a stranger, brother,
mother or niece!

And now this latest,
This time a school bombing air strike,
innocent Iranian school students
razed down and erased from earth,
Blood of innocence spilled
   and little hearts killed
by heinous evil...
Alas ,shame woe be
on those who maim children
 for mercenary claim...

Zaynab. Thank-you for posting this poem and updating it to include the slaughter of innocent children in Iran. While I am against war as a matter of principle, the callousness and cruelty of the US conduct is certainly as you say...shameful. The US has a group of leaders who are too self centered and animalistic to take the time to work peaceful solutions to issues. They'll destroy anyone and anything that resists their greedy whims as exemplified by D.T.

Your poem carries a weight which stays with you long after the last line. There’s a raw honesty in the way you write about loss, and a tenderness in how you hold space for the children whose lives were taken. You don’t just describe tragedy, you feel it, and that feeling comes through in every word. The compassion in your words is unmistakable, and the way you honor the innocence of those children makes the poem not just a piece of writing, but a solemn act of remembrance. Thank you for sharing.

Your poem enphasises the horror human beings can do to each other. Across the political spectrum, Left, Right and So Called Centre on a world wide basis, in any given country evil exists or can. Thank you so much for your review of my work

Dear S. When we focus on violence, it increases. When we focus on peace, it increases. As individuals we always have a choice. Imagine if every single poet on all Poetry Sites send peace to Iran & (and Americans involved) how much the energy will shift. ThkU for sharing a poem. Great Love., Ghairo

Warm thanks for vouching for peace, indeed Iran and American soldiers deserve to live not war each other. Iran will always take a worse hit as it is under U.S sanctions as well . So wordly super powers need to stop bombing nations and civilians.

Violence begets violence. War destroys the trust and happiness of innocents. This is powerful and heartfelt. I believe in society sometimes there are psychopaths born into this world. Even having a good upbringing, they are bad seeds and no rehabilitation will help them. It's all so sad. These monsters abuse their spouses and do despicable crimes. Epstein files prove our world is led by evil powerful people of greed as well. We can only pray and trust in God

A heartfelt write. Yes, children are sacred. Often caught in the crossfire of wars they did not start. Innocent victims of mental illness, sacrificial pawns in spiritual chess -- so called good verses evil. It is complicated. Love is the answer, seeming often impossible to establish, where present conditions of cruel consciousness, horridly infected hearts.
