To Care Or Not To Care That Is the Question

It seems that we as humans have problems with kindness When it comes to our fellow man and animals we suffer from blindness Why can't we treat all other living things with care and compassion? Since when did sympathy, empathy and mercy go out of fashion? Why must we turn blind, deaf and dumb when cruelty rears its ugly head? Why must we jeer at the downtrodden and torture poor animals until dead? Do we think we are so superior we can treat other creatures with disdain? Put yourself in their place and try to imagine their suffering and pain. For whatever reason we are here and have been given the power of mind We owe it to all living things to be sensitive and above all kind So I ask you to join myself and others to bring about a change of heart We can alter uncaring and lack of compassion if we all do our part
