To Be Loved
It’s such a joy
To be loved by you,
And love you in return—
To wake each day
To the gentle warmth
Of your soft, slumbering beauty;
To hear the dawn
Of your waking voice,
Still low and cracking with sleep;
To peer through pools
Of blue and green—
Your eyes, so bright with love,
And feel the touch
Of tender arms
That promise to stay forever.
