To Be Canadian
Normally civil amongst ourselves.
Knowing the alternative benefits no one.
Accepting of other people and willing to try and understand them.
This, the glue that binds us.
Grateful for the peace we enjoy.
Remembering it came with a price.
Aware we are generally decent people.
An ideal the world aspires to.
Oh, this is our spirit.
