To be a Frugal King or Queen

i'm a frugal queen and proud
know where a penny goes
a meal stretch to a crowd
same boat all others knows

keep a journal of my day
to see what l have spent
penny jam jar l will pay
as l cook and grow and mend

but harder every year
to cutting back some more
do we eat or heat now fear
and bills line kitchen draw

so l follow all the tips
from youtube frugal shows
no more supermarket trips
they say watch then money grows

advise of theirs no good
because little do they know
if no money first to buy
so how shopping can l go

guys , survival tips all showing
we're all facing everyday
but your more TOUGHER than your knowing

 to fight another day.

Ben Franklin wrote: "A penny saved is a penny earned." Today, a 'penny saved' is worthless by the time you take it out to spend it... 'Hot potato' has been replaced by 'Hot pennies.'

I enjoyed this Jacqueline….my mum was frugal she had to be widowed with five children and worked as a cleaner….we never went without and she saved a penny or two in latter life….yet she was also very generous with money….too generous at times! Sounds like you enjoy frugality (think thats the right word ha) Debx

Thanks Deb. My mom had 7 children. She was a young mom with kids in ww2 and got bombed out of her home. They scraped a living all her life so we never had much, but she passed on precious money wisdom and tips. She always said never take money for granted. Deb,your own poems are a tribute to your mom, she would be proud. Have a great week. J
