To a Writer Par Excellence

I think you are a writer par excellence
Your prose and poetry are simply divine
With ebb and flow your phrases make sense,
With remarkable meter and exquisite rhyme.

Your prose and poetry are simply divine
You have a fine understanding of perfect tense,
With remarkable meter and exquisite rhyme
Enjoyable reading, my friend, every time.

You have a fine understanding of perfect tense
Upon reading your work, I never need to wince,
Enjoyable reading, my friend, every time,
Elevating my literary appreciation to the sublime.

Upon reading your work, I never need to wince
In giving out words of praise, I will not mince,
Elevating my literary appreciation to the sublime
As I see it, your skills have reached their prime.

In giving out words of praise, I will not mince
With ebb and flow your phrases make sense,
As I see it, your skills have reached their prime
I think you are a writer par excellence.

Excellent, excellent, excellent, a tour de force with those rhymes as well! In all my years of writing poems I've only dared to write a single pantoum which, try as I have to locate it, I haven't? / Maurice

And there was me, looking for my name… Damn… that’ll teach me not to use bad gramma for literary effect. Nonetheless, a smart, meaningful write, Milt. ;-) Terry

Terry, I thought of you, but I couldn't figure out how to rhyme Flood with anything! (chuckling) Anyway, you can take it to heart!

Terry, you, of all people, can get away with most anything in writing because you have a tremendous gift for the humorous. Your writing is absolutely never banal or mundane. It is always engrossing. Thanks for the compliment.

This is quite a well-crafted pantoum, reflecting well on the one who wrote it! Ad astra per aspera! ~ gw

Thanks, gw, for the thoughtful compliment. Now, if I only understood Latin or whatever it is, I'd know what you are really telling me. (chuckling)

Well now, what poet wouldn't love to receive such thoughts? Pantoum perfection, Milt.
