To Sophia
TO SOPHIA
Water turning into pebbles
Ceasing to roll
With you
Sea means sands,
River, a bed of dry rubbles.
I gaze
You struggle to utter
I hug
You stumble to shudder.
Yet in a desert of bones
The oasis of tear ripples
Yon
The wonder world
Where tear melts
The bones to flesh again.
Sophia!
You can see in my eyes
The seven oceans
In your body
See I
all the continents.
That makes
A haven
Of land and water,
Our good earth . Written after seeing a
Documentary on Sophia .a girl
Suffering from one disease
Where all flesh stiffens to bones ,body becomes stony and the victim fails to move and
talk.
