Tired

‘Tired’

Ever noted the many adaptations of ‘tired’?
How much you miss sleep when fatigue leaves you wired?
Try to find the right words to reflect how you feel
When drained, worn out, weary
Trying to wake’s not ideal

There's your various ‘tired’s’
Such as; 'over' and 'out'
There's a 'dog' and his 'bone'
After yawning pass out
Brain fogged and drowsy
Jet lagged and grouchy
Just a stroll to the shop
You’re soon ready to drop

Sluggish and sleepy, so ready for rest
Over worked, no reserve, put to the test
Hate those points in the day, when you feel so frustrated
Like sad balloon with no air, you’re feeling deflated

When on you’re on your last legs, energy depleted
Spent and sapped and feeling defeated
Turning stale feeling jaded
All strength now has faded,
You're finished, just spent
No strength left to vent

All of these words, barely outline
How exhausted you feel despite ‘looking fine’

I can relate Victoria, as one who suffers from insomnia; I like your poem but especially the deflated balloon analogy btw!:)
