Tints and Hues
Here in this city we seek good reason
To do this and that for enough payback;
We aim just to see beyond odd season,
In fashion and fad, in easy and slack.
Our daily affairs involve a plain face;
A copycat wave that slaves this instance;
On voice box we stare in somber enclave;
And wait for fine saves in deep dark distance.
Between dawn and dust, the weathered charades;
Turn each to each now with blank, bored faces;
Then do what we must to venture parade;
Accept time's endow with empty traces.
Weary and dreary find solace in sleep;
Nightmares once dreamy grip worries we weep.
