Notes About The Poem

Time's Passage

Vernal springtime is departing,
Leaving plush carpets of petals,
All along scented garden paths,
And also in luxuriant meadows.
The sun has grown deep orange,
With distinct traces of old gold.
Stars embedded in purple flash,
As moon magic charms the hills.
Rosy halcyon days are leaving,
And the mellow hours are near.

Oh, those 'mellow hours.' I'll enjoy Spring first, if that's ok -- sitting here watching another snowstorm blanket Chicago. lol. Winter's on the wane now. Sunday the temp will be 50 again. (It was 55 yesterday). Soon the tulips will be up. ~ Dreaming Daily

With a temperature of 55 degrees, that snow won't be around long. It's very fitting that my birthday is right near the onset of spring. ~ Me Too

This is absolutely enchanting! Really gives me sense of the divine within and behind all of nature's resplendent changes -- the tingle of living-time is the eloquent, pervading element-theme of this fine work, that when in the moment of realization, one feels a kinship, while wonderfully entangled between tactile folds of dynamic mystery. Love it! You get a Fav.!

You've revived the vibe of summer, even as it's leaving, and now I look out on the snow, feeling the sadness in my heart. Wonderful creation you've penned, Evelyn. ~ Not so Mellow
