Time's Not Free

Freedom's voice
                   is seldom heard
             amidst contentious crowds
                  and lonesome herds

                For time's not free
                   and carries on
                with not a thought
                  for you or me

                  Click your device
                    you can see
               everything's there
                 for you for a fee

                  Run the race
                   Pace it fast

                Build wide barns
            Raise sturdy supports
        to store your massed wares

       take those prospective risks
                till time whisks it
                    all away

          as the gate swings wide
         to secure your soul's fate
             when time unfolds
               your life's story
            at the holy threshold
