Timeless Time

It seems like yesterday
That my birth was heralded
With trumpets and fanfare
I wonder how it’s all history

No wonder the common dogma
That time awaits no man
Just like a snap of the thumbs
Seconds tick into minutes
Minutes expand into hours
And graduates into days
Leading into months
And transcending into years

What a sinking feeling
To know that everyday draws you close
To the inevitability of the grave
Time drives the human existence
It controls our minds immensely
Like the emission of pressure cooking heats

To the wise hearted
Who know how time flies
Such will utilize productively
Because in no time at all
Yesterday will all become a dream
Making the ignorant today a nightmare
Like a wind tomorrow will breeze past

For the dumb and foolish minded
Chasing the pleasures and ephemeral things
To such a person’s dismay
The time will have flown past
And there will be no remedy
To the crushing disappointments that lay awake
