Time To Discard Baggage

TIME TO DISCARD BAGGAGE
WOW! she took a shellacking from the words that grown girl spoke after clearing up the air loving relationship hope. Didn’t like all the things she heard tho had right to speak her mind pray after the dust settles old baggage she’ll leave behind. All families have their issues God knows they’ve had theirs too old baggage that she’s carried from here to Kalamazoo. Time has come to discard things apologies don’t cover time to mend hurts between a grown girl and her mother. Barbara Barry-Nishanian May 29, 2018 Copyright

It's very hard to do, discarding that baggage but, not impossible. Well penned.

I have enjoyed reading, Barbara. Apologizing sometimes doesn't work, but we go on. Have a blessed day. Hugs Eve

Well Eve..when first we don't succeed, try and try again. That's how I have a blessed day, doing what my God requires. So nice hearing from you.

I wrote my book DUMMY, Hurtful and Healing Words. It deals with my journey from an abusive home and how I was healed through my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Yes my baggage is much lighter now that it is placed at the foot of the cross.

I am so glad to hear that you have Faith and have accepted Christ. I accept him as my Lord and Savior, but as you read in Juneteenth, my God, and Heavenly father is the one Jesus worshiped, Jehovah. Glad I met you! Take care.

"Time has come to discard things apologies don't cover..." Such a good line. I had to be taught how to let go of my baggage, didn't know how, and it had been with me all my life. They do get very heavy. Was well worth it. :) A great poem, well written.

Susan, thank you for pointing out the line you liked. I wrote this because I don't know anyone who hasn't carried baggage. I agree it's hard to let go and everybody needs help. Hope you have joy in your heart now. Thanks for your kind words.

I once many decades ago truly loved and lived with a beautiful and kind lady that carried such heavy baggage about her relationship with her father. It eventually destroyed our relationship as it was that terrible and damaging to her soul. Adding this fine poem to my fav list as it highlights how some parents scar and damage their innocent children beyond relief.

Robert sorry victim of her baggage. I am victim of this baggage also. We love each other, I had to be the parent, and not the friend when it came to rules, discipline etc. We clash, we accept our life styles differ, due to religious differences I am proud of child ,successful, responsible, honest, trustworthy V.P..WE are oil and water, that's o.k.

Well said, I wrote a piece called “Between the Words of My Father” which I think you would relate to. Many people are carrying heavy bags.

Richard, how cruel he seemed. Beautiful poem, but so sad, I too felt the tears and emotions other shared with you. After reading poem and comments...Believe me our baggage is very, very, very light. Congrats. you survived!
