Time To Discard Baggage
TIME TO DISCARD BAGGAGE
WOW! she took a shellacking
from the words that grown girl spoke
after clearing up the air
loving relationship hope.
Didn’t like all the things she heard
tho had right to speak her mind
pray after the dust settles
old baggage she’ll leave behind.
All families have their issues
God knows they’ve had theirs too
old baggage that she’s carried
from here to Kalamazoo.
Time has come to discard
things apologies don’t cover
time to mend hurts between
a grown girl and her mother.
