Time Spent

I’ve spent centuries searching for sanity
In this whirlwind of a world.
I’ve spent decades debating the
disadian of darkness.
I’ve spent lifetimes wishing I’d waited wistfully
instead of wandering uncharted waters.
Within these years,
I’ve learned to throw caution to the wind,
And give in to the melodrama of
scraped knees and bruised knuckles
and the beauty of tear stained cheeks.
