Time of Unrest

A time of unrest like never before seen While basic structures of society crumble, Families lacking in simple cohesiveness Schools accused of burnishing history Churches falling into dismal hypocrisy Rabble-rousers lurch toward anarchy, Simple folks questioning whom to trust Muckrakers telling us what to believe, Respect for our leaders at its lowest ebb Hearing the voices of conspiracies spread, While a pandemic continues unabated We, the masses saturated with ignorance. written September 10, 2021

I think I must have been on a rant when I wrote this, Caren. I've heard enough about bad everything is for a lifetime, and I think I must have absorbed some of it! LOL

It's truly frightening Milton! I am so apprehensive of where we are headed, it's a cliche for sure but we need more love for one another, one human family!!! Great poem!

We seem to think on nothing except this pandemic and I fear a recurrence soon as the cld seasons begin.

Yes, Victor, it is quite possible. The pandemic has had too great a hand in shaping our ways of thinking, I think. Perhaps we need to reset the clock! Thanks for your thoughts.
