Time In the Sun
It’s nine twenty-five, I’m still on the sand
the sun has been gone for an hour
the blow of the ocean has started its rush
as I say goodbye to the sea
The salty impressions of cool evening air
have rendered me helpless to shivers unmeant
reality checks, as I gather my thoughts,
my time in the sun is over
Yet, knowing I’ve had such a wonderful day
on beaches of gold, caressed by the dawn
does offer some comfort to finish this chill
to help me surrender as I must move on
