He spat with high contempt and requires its place One minute of silence ... not a second more the fear of falling - the excitement is palpable Tears pressed behind his eyes, and there was a painful lump in his throat The audience has lost interest the champagne bottles are emptied The hermetic silence heavy and raw With an old airplane helmet from the First World War pressed down over his ears Adult boys do not cry Audience armed with eggs and rotten tomatoes As watching lions play with a mouse 08/05/2021 Sun :) - A-L Andresen :) Copyright © All Rights Reserved

I think truth, requires silence. To hear our deeper nature above the clatter of protection and conformity. Great read! Thank you.

This goes as a Fav for me for its writing excellence of stunning truth. I took it as one of the executive speech moments of respect for the insurrectionists murder of the capitol guard. You captured it. One poem worth a thousand pictures. Anne-Lise, thank you for writing this. Hugs, sally

There is a pregnant silence as the audience waits in anticipation. The tension builds as the player contemplates his next move. One wrong move and he concedes defeat and leaves in disgrace. Great write my friend with wonderful imagery and description. God Bless, JB
