Time Adrift

The cries of children
Echo through the hall of time
To the ears of souls grown
A flutter of white wings
Below blue heavenly seas
Raise in observant ones
The romance of nostalgia
The past is past
Yet, a war rages in me,
The urge to scream
The name of the cattle egret
