Time

Time

Minute by minute
The sound of the clock echoes through my ears
Tick…tick…tick
Another second added to those of my past
Taken away from my shrinking future
Tick…tick…tick
It continues to taunt me
Tease me about my mortality
Tick…tick…tick
Man created minutes, seconds and hours
Dreading them as they pass
Tick…tick…tick
Time tells him when to eat and sleep
Tells him a schedule he has to live by
Tick…tick…tick
When will it stop?
At what point in time will it tick no more?
Tick…tick…tick
One more second becomes the past
Another turns into the present
Tick…Tick…tick
An eternal circle of time
Never ending it continues
Tick…tick…tick
Ending only when the universe ends
Only to start again when a new universe is born
Tick…tick…tick
