Time

the watchmaker’ cogs spring rounds of suspended surprise

mind ticking on overdrive under cover of a magnifying glass

escape wheel in the face of pendulums still for a moment

the dial states its buckled up case has abandoned the rat race

he fastens his craft and his belt in the underbelly of memories

an artisan refusing to send chronographs to the scrap heap of time

a magnifying glass highlights precision and carves his eternal courage

mixes Clock Work Orange Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince

oblivious to digital corruption as his hands keep nascent nostalgia alive

time foretells from the past because history delivers an infinite message

of eternal oscillations in which standstill is no option as he spins a tale

the craftsman loosens the bezel and hands out minutes and hours

he seems to portray an ancient realm of lost old fashioned causes

and yet modernity calls for reflection for progress and innovation

a personified museum he mends what should never be broken

as reward for his art work he gives us the present and gathers resolve

to cherish long forgotten mastery of guardian recollections and peace

once we listen to the tick tock in silence our journey flows forward

The journey of that beautifully crafted clock continues throughout our lives and for the oncoming generations but we seldom pay attention to those forgotten words of wisdom. Loved your unique take on the theme Kai. Congratulations on your win! :)
