Time

For love there was a time
That appeared to be sublime.
But I fear it was all for naught,
For tears were all it brought.

The love appeared true
Brought anger only to brew.
A heart cold and blue,
Loneliness grew and grew.

Time somehow comes to pass
Hurt and anger fade and die
A heart opens to chance
And reaches for the sky.

The past is forever gone
And a new love lives on.
Time is on one side
With love in heart soul and mind.

Keep open your heart,
That you may come in time,
A love that’s once more
So completely sublime.

Thank you both for your kind words. I have not been able to write as of late but hope that will soon change.

Thank you, and yes after nearly 70 years of life, it did evolve through personal experience.

An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes ink onto the page...well done my friend, Emile.

Thank you. It’s a bit odd. Normally it takes a great deal of thought, time, and more than a few rewrites but this one was penned in just a day.
