Time
I no longer need to obey you
For I have no curfew to meet
Minutes, seconds and hours
Making the day compete
At first each hour passes so slowly
Not knowing each day how to fill
As one hour passes to two then three
How can the day’s end it not yet be
Slowly I stop watching the hands
To look at sights never seen
A world now coming alive
Showing such a beautiful scene
I wonder for all of those hours
The need from beginning to end
To be filled the start to the finish
My hurry to have them blend
I no longer need a clock
As I rise with the sun for my day
I rest my eyes when darkness comes
The hours between my way
