Till The Very End

You say you don’t fear dying alone
But wait till all your regrets eat you up
To the very end
And you’re desperate for an extra breath
To beg for forgiveness
And another breath
to ask to see your kids
And another breath
And the strength
To reach out for our hands
And yet another breath
And even more strength
To cry to us
And say that you love us
But don’t ask for too many breaths
So that you won’t see us
Walk away from you
With no tears in our eyes
Dont ask for too many breaths
Or too much strength
So you won’t see
Or feel us
As we take a big breath of relief
And leave you to die alone
Because you said you wouldn’t
be afraid of that

Wow! Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
