Till Death Do Us Part

This is the best I can hope for, is what she thinks
I can do worse and he's usually kind, is what she tells herself
The bruises and emotional pain are deserved, is what she believes
There is no way to survive on my own, is what her brain keeps repeating
He loved me to death, is what her tombstone will read

As I lived my childhood in an abusive situation, I can commiserate. I think that life is what prevented me from moving on to abusive adult relationships. I understand the mindset, though. And have seen this sort of thing happen entirely too often. Thanks for reading and your comment, Jimmy :)
