Notes About The Poem

Tightly Tethered To Love

When reality bites,
it inflects hurt and pain,
and we look for a place,
to simply, get away.

Fueling fantasies,
tightly tethered to love,
romantic dreams, offer
a secret place to play.

A sanctuary, from
fragile, fledgling feelings,
where passion, and desire,
coexist, within dreams.

When disenchanted, with love,
paint your wishes, with hope,
for, even sad feelings,
are far better, than none.

Life is much too short, to
waste, worrying about
unfulfilled promises,
or games, of betrayal.
