Tick Tock - Itty Bitty

crepitus announces itself annoyed
at my impudence as I climb the stairs
it speaks the language of stop, I don't

flatulence trumpets my presence
luckily no one is hear to breathe deep
another dead language of age

the sounds of decomposition make me smile
for even they can fill a blank page

Debs, this is really good. Very mature writing and I was expecting it to have been written by a man, for some reason. Anyway, congrats in my contest. a job very well done.

I love it when one is able to laugh at one's self, and the common experience that is part of being human. You were not only able to fill a blank page, but you made others smile along with you !! :)

My apologies for not being around for a while. I've made a major but temporary move to the NW corner of the USA. Adjusting is more difficult than I thought it would be. However, I'm recovering slowly, slowly ... Jack

I guess the trumpet is a warning so that we hold our breath. It's the silence we must be wary of. This itty bitty was fun.
