Tick Tock

To all of us Who have lost someone To all of us who have lost something A void, emptiness A feeling of the no more And nevermore To those of us Who never got a chance To say I love you Or I’m sorry Or I care To those of us who thought There would be a tomorrow Or a next time To those of us who wish for yesterday To relay the feelings of today I say this to you Do not wait for tomorrow For what can be said today Do let pride steal your chance Do not dream of what you want Do not wait for anything To confess what you want to say Tick Tock It’s a race against the clock Time is nothing but a fuse that burns Convey your thoughts to those you love For otherwise an empty heart yearns Empty and unsaid Thoughts of love Fall silent upon the ears of the dead Think about it ! Eric (and sometimes not)

We glance at our anxious wristwatches and say "Time is Money" but Eric Nolan Tick Tock says time for love... Tick Tock is against mistimed declaration of Love.

Chinedum, "We glance at our anxious wristwatches" I really like that line, I wish I would have thought of it first. Your right though, we think of time as money and accumulating things when really it doesn't matter compared to letting people know you care about them because of the short time we are here. Thank you for stopping by and commenting it is greatly appreciated.

"Fall silent upon ears of the dead..." Thank you for sharing, reminding us of sober truth. At once I felt clarity speaking to me. Wonderful.

I can totally relate to your poem, Tick Tock, I lost several people without the chance to say I love you to them. Lovely poem, nicely done!

It still hurts to say goodbye but when you have spent time, loved up on your kin and family then it is good. Well done!

Kim, Saying goodbye is letting go of a part of your life and it does hurt tremendously. However you are right, it is the time that we spend with those we love that is priceless and can never be lost to time. Thank you for taking the time to comment it means alot to me.

Thank you Tyesha, long time no see. I am glad you liked this one. I to missed my chance one time to say things I needed to. I imagine that it happens to a lot of us unfortunately. My only hope is that people will read this and say what they need to say to those they want to say it to. Thanks again Tyesha.

Beauty here indeed..true message revealed here..I wish I had said some things to some people and gotten to know someone better. I remember just putting it off, just knowing that I had plenty of time, because they weren't going anywhere, so I thought..but I was wrong and I can't go back and change it but I can learn from it and I intend to tell people how much they mean to me and let them know how much I love them..This hit home for me..Congratulations on your featured poem..God Bless* Tyesha

Thank you Carrie, I appreciate that you liked it and your right we never do know if their is a tomorrow that's why they say yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery and today is the present that's why they call it a gift. I wish I had thought of that but it still is a perfect statement. Thanks again.
