Tiara Tears
With trembling hands I tore into my gift
My heart a flutter at what I would find
Out of the box, tiara I did lift
Sent with love from subjects, loyal kind
And nestled there, what else did I espy?
Bejeweled combs to place in raven hair
My eyes filled up with sparkling tears of joy
From sweet and loving words so filled with care
My soul has struggled long to find some peace
At times bereft of strength to carry on
These poet friends have helped to bring release
My heart with tender kindness they have won
So tell me not, my kingdom is not real
Tiara tears proclaim just how I feel
Eileen Manssian Ghali
At times people insinuate that my poetry community is not real. How little they know. I want to thank FJ THOMAS for the poem she posted a while back, “The Kingdom of Ghali,” in which she graciously gave me the title of QUEEN! This was the first step in a process of restoring my faith and confidence in myself. The next came in the mail a few days ago. What can I tell you? THIS GESTURE MOVED ME BEYOND WHAT WORDS CAN EXPRESS. FJ THOMAS sent me a tiara…and hair combs, to sparkle in my hair and remind me, that though I am going through difficult times, I am a “QUEEN”. In there were greetings from my loyal “subjects”…..Drake Eszes, Richard Lamoureux, Becca Lucas, and Jack Ellison. There were also three letters. My mother on the soup, DONNA JONES wrote a poem that squeezed my heart in the most loving ways ever imaginable. I LOVE YOU, DONNA! Charmaine Chircope send me her love and hugs which just made me glow, and of course, FJ Thomas…the woman behind it all……wrote me lovely words that will have my heart singing for a long long time. I’m wearing my crown…there…in my photo, but most importantly…I’m wearing it in my heart…FOREVER. It’s good to have REAL friends! HUGS
