Thunderstorm
Once I was in a metal row boat on a lake
Along came a sudden, fierce thunder storm
I was stuck on the other side
In this boat with a friend
The lightening started coming down all around
From sky to water, as the thunder rolled
We paddled as fast as we could, so strong and bold
Across the middle of the lake, homebound
With anxiety to no end
The lake, it seemed so wide
At such a time a metal boat felt, not the norm
Water flying, we moved fast with a wake
Hoping and praying we would survive for God’s sake
Thinking about home where it’s safe and warm
We could have stopped in fear and cried
Instead courage was found
I will never forget my nice home in that town
Where I landed safe with a story told
