Thug Poets

Poets who spew Poets who haven’t a glue Poets who use words To intimidate and skew Opinions twisted in division Instead of healing societies wounds When serving men are killed in cold blood No matter my view My heart bleeds for their families Compassion is my vision I am NO THUG Notes: Dedicated to 2 police officers killed on duty in cold blood in New York City. At the time of this tragedy, it is tasteless and crude to write anything at all that Belittles men who serve. With all that has happened in the United States, concerning the police, let us remember, most serve and defend with pride, we must bring people together Not divide and especially not spew hatred and falsehoods. God bless

If there are poets out there making light of this, that is so WRONG. I applaud you for speaking out.

Thanks Jan, and no matter what killing in cold blood, well we have enough pain and suffering in this world without adding to it! Hugs!

I agree with the comment by Mystic Rose, that there are a few bad apples in every field but it doesn't speak for the whole of an Organization. Love this poem.

Beautiful, to the point and so true. My son Nate who is sleeping in death was a Federal Police officer and Served as a Military Police officer in the Air Force he is also a Veteran and the reason he chose these fields is because he wanted to serve and protect and he has earned medals and awards for Meritorious service. He is buried at a VA Cemetery. Just recently there was a service of placing Wreaths Of Remembrance on their resting place in Honor and Remembrance of their sacrifice and service.
