Through the Kalahari

I journeyed part of the way with a cold gin, who shed a tear at every sip, Flavored with juniper berries I couldn’t resist the temptation, Besides, I needed accompaniment for the lonely road. And in this era of morally corrupt policing, it’s good that we still have good cops out there, By good cops I mean those kind enough to look the other way for a buck. It made my journey less disquieting. And the hours passed still, Contending against the drizzling atmosphere and the outspread potholes, I took thee napping, at every lay bye, Finally reached the land of cattle and a maddening thirst had hold of me. The sun had risen again fortunately, And the morning birds have launched their praise, So I drove by Sexanana to sate my thirst. Here I will lay for a good rest and journey forth at the crack of dawn
