Through the Broken Glass

I see unknown faces,
I see broken smiles,
I smell a sensation of fear,
I am drowning in a fragrance of sorrow,

Desperate, they want to speak,
While breathless their voices appear,
Feebly their eyes would stare,
Seeing nothing but shattered glass,

"Broken," their voices would scream resiliently,
While I contemplate their trembling body,
I try to read what their eyes are trying to say,
But a web of mystery imprisons their thoughts,

Behind the broken glass, lies
A vague vision,
A glass prison,
An unidentified life,

Viciously breathless,
Their souls would breathe,
Brutally blinded,
Their eyes would see,

Looking misrably with tears in my eyes,
I felt my soul swim in their lives,
Careless, all people live this life,
Making me realize the emptiness we live in,

Knock-knock! My door banged,
I heard a mass of glass shattering,
As the sound of it revived me from this hallucination,
Frightened, I looked around me,

I was home, sitting on my chair,
With a glass of water shining in front of my eyes...
I stood up, heading towards the front door,
With a picture of shattering glass
Cherished within me...
