Through Tears

Through tears I see
what war has done
to you and me.

Our children are dead.
The wounded scream.
Surely this is a bad dream!

All for what?
To control the oil?
To impose your religion upon my soil?

You can't control thoughts.
You can't have someone's heart
even though war has destroyed a big part.

Still in shock.
Human against human.
Life itself is mocked.

Hate is your god.
Greed is theirs.
And no one shares.

It's always the same.
Destruction and strife.
Killing me.
Killing you.
Killing life.
